On-loan Celtic defender Adam Montgomery is set to make his Queens Park debut at Ibrox on Sunday as Scotland’s oldest club visits Scotland’s youngest…

Montgomery has spent loan spells at Aberdeen, St Johnstone, Fleetwood Town, Motherwell in recent years and now Scottish Championship side Queens Park have secured the left-back’s services until the end of the season.
Making 18 appearances across all competitions in 2021/2022 under Ange Postecoglou, the 22 year-old failed to kick on at Celtic and become a permanent mainstay in the first team.
No appearances for Montgomery at Celtic this season
Despite Montgomery’s several loan spells, the Celtic academy product was with the Hoops during the first half of the season but never made a single appearance.

Now, Adam Montgomery could be in line to play his first game this season on Sunday afternoon at Ibrox when Queens Park, the oldest club in Scottish football take on theRangers founded by Charles Green in 2012, in the fifth round of the Scottish Cup.
“We are extremely pleased to be bringing Adam in,” Callum Davidson
Speaking about Montgomery’s arrival at the Spiders to the official Queens Park website, boss Callum Davidson said: “We are extremely pleased to be bringing Adam in.
“He is a player I know well having worked with him previously at St Johnstone and we know he will add real quality to the squad. He can play in a number of positions down the left-hand side and that flexibility will be very important to us in terms of giving us options down that side of the team.

“We have absolutely no doubt he will have a big role to play for us for the remainder of the season.”
Rodgers recalled Dane Murray from Queens Park

Brendan Rodgers recalled Montgomery’s teammate Dane Murray from Queens Park last month after Stephen Welsh exited the Hoops for KV Mechelen – forcing the 21 year-old to return to the Scottish champions in order to fill the UEFA homegrown quota for the Champions League.
