Celtic midfielder Luke McCowan has been named the star-man in this week’s SPFL Team of the Week…
Following his exceptional display against Ross County on Saturday, McCowan has been rewarded with recognition in the weekly TOTW Scottish footballing series which includes players across all four divisions.
McCowan grabbed a goal and three assists in Celtic’s 5-0 thumping of Ross County at Paradise on Saturday afternoon and was named Player of the Match for his perfect performance.
Since arriving from Dundee in the summer, McCowan has been a bit-part player for Brendan Rodgers, but with the fixtures coming thick and fast over the festive period, he is sure to play an influential role in both the Premiership and the Champions League.
Meanwhile, it was only yesterday that the Celtic boss praised the midfield playmaker for his contribution and work ethic which has resulted in the 26 year-old becoming an integral squad member.
If McCowan is to keep up this form and cement himself as a regular amongst this current successful Hoops team, a first Scotland cap will await him in March for his country — something McCowan admitted to The Celtic Star back in September was a career goal of his.
