Celtic not looking to sign Jordan Larsson, according to report

Celtic are not looking to sign Jordan Larsson this summer, according to a report. The Swedish Internationalist is out of contract following his contract with Spartak Moscow being terminated by mutual consent. The Scottish Champions had been credited with an interest in the player but this may have been more to do with the emotional connection to Henrik Larsson.

According to Football Scotland, Celtic are not looking to bring the free agent to the club as teams in Germany, Italy and England consider a move for the son of Henrik.

Larsson is an £11m player and you have to think that if Celtic were offered the player they certainly would consider him. Although, Larsson’s agents are probably using Ange Postecoglou’s team as a stalking horse as they try and attract the most lucrative package for their client.

In Russia, J Larsson scored 27 times and assisted 9 times in 83 appearances. His market value is still growing and the opportunity to sign a player with his qualities should certainly be looked at. J Larsson can play in a central striking role or in an advanced position on the right side.

Celtic might consider Larsson but only for footballing reasons and only if he fits into the manager’s style of play. The proof will be in the pudding and you would expect Larsson to move to a top-five league team but we will see if anything progresses with Celtic.
