Celtic official gives match status update amid Premiership call-offs

Celtic are due to face Kilmarnock this afternoon in the Cinch Premiership. The Scottish Champions are set to host the visitors from Ayrshire at Celtic Park but there have been some concerns whether the match will be able to go ahead due to the torrential rain that has resulted in weather warnings across the country.

Already, we have had Dundee’s game against Ross County postponed due to a waterlogged pitch and fans have spoken on social media about whether Celtic’s game could be forced off due to the weather. Fortunately, Celtic’s SLO John Paul Taylor was able to assist and calm fears that the game may be called off.

Traffic will be impacted by the heavy rain so supporters should allow for extra time when making their way to Paradise. Many train routes have been affected by the adverse weather conditions so it will be a challenging trip for many to get to the game.

Hopefully, Brendan Rodgers’ team can use the extra zip on a well watered surface to dismiss Killie, who would rather play on a bone dry plastic pitch.
