Celtic Park Pitch ready by end of May – Renovation work starts tomorrow

WORK will begin tomorrow on the playing surface at Paradise. This will ensure that the Bhoys will have what Paul Cuddihy describes as “an immaculate Celtic Park surface” ready for them when football returns.

“An immaculate Celtic Park surface will be ready to go when football resumes following annual light renovation pitchworks which will begin on Monday,” the Celtic View Editor reported on the official club site.

“Celtic will be using this period of enforced shutdown to complete these works so that Paradise will be at its best after receiving this special treatment over the next few weeks.

“A huge credit goes to the Club’s ground staff, Celtic’s state-of-the-art hybrid surface has served the Club brilliantly again this season and has won praise from all visiting European clubs.

“As we have always said, we hope it will be possible to complete games in the current season, but regardless of when football re-opens, the Celtic Park surface will be available from the end of May or first week in June and will be at its very best, as our players, supporters and visiting clubs have come to expect.”

The Rangers started to dig up their diseased pitch at Ibrox around a week ago and with tractors rolling through the Rangers Football Club Ltd (in liquidation) gates, to start digging up their damaged playing surface, many questioned the inconsistency between that action and the statement-fest followed, 13 points behind in the league and latching on to a global pandemic as their only hope of stopping Celtic winning another title.

This Poll on Twitter gives an insight into the mindset of the Celtic support. We want these games played, we want to win the League on the pitch and we want to celebrate our success – our title winning day, our trophy day , our second 9-in-a-row.

Over 95% of Celtic Supporters want the games played.

“Finish it, only if it’s safe to do so. They deserve to see us lift it live on TV after their nonsense. It would be poetic justice if their collapse continued and Motherwell finished second,” Peter Mcadam replied.

Everything that has come out of Ibrox has been pathetic. Lost the League Cup Final to Celtic. Lost the Scottish Cup quarter final to bottom of the League Hearts and lost the Premiership because they allowed Celtic to pull away from them from 2 points ahead having played a game more to 13 points ahead again with a game more completed.

And the goal difference which was neck and neck ended up with Celtic a massive 25 points to the good.

In 2020 Celtic have scored more goals, won more games, picked up more points that the Rangers – big Chris Sutton yesterday hit the nail on the head. The likelihood is that Celtic would have won the league by more points – not less – than the 13 point lead they have when coronavirus stopped play. Sutton estimated the eventual lead would be around 20 points.

That’s why null and void was their only play. A brass necked embarrassing one, which allows the mutants to shout on social media and on radio phone-ins about conspiracies, bullying, anti-Rangers bias (the lack of self-awareness is astonishing) and tainted titles with Asterix attachments. Here are Scottish football’s tainted titles, so let’s have an investigation about these…
