Celtic pay emotional tribute to retiring club legend Scott Brown

Celtic have paid an emotional tribute to retiring club legend Scott Brown, who confirmed at the weekend that he would be bringing his illustrious playing career to an end. The 36-year-old celebrates his birthday at the beginning of June and has taken this opportunity to retire from playing as he looks at making his next move in his career.

Celtic posted an emotional tribute to Broony with Tom Rogic, Callum McGregor, James Forrest and John Kennedy  all chipping in with compliments to the iconic captain.

Brown rejected the chance to remain at Celtic in order to take up a player-coach role under his pal, Stephen Glass. However, following the sacking of Glass and subsequent replacement Jim Goodwin informing Brown that his coaching opportunities would be limited, he made the decision to walk away from the North East. You would imagine that he is seeking to put his coaching badges to good use and build up experience with a long-term view to seal the Celtic job one day.

The midfielder bowed out at Celtic after 620 appearances, 46 goals and 22 trophies in the Green and White. The opportunity to make it as a coach will motivate Brown, a serial winner, to keep going ahead of his start in football.
