Celtic react to footage of rapper Macklemore in Celtic shirt

Celtic have reacted to the images on social media of American rapper Macklemore wearing the Hoops. The 40-year-old from Seattle has always been proud of his Irish heritage and at a gig in New York, the artist was wearing the club’s Adidas home shirt for this season.

Taking to Twitter/X, the official Celtic FC account reacted to the footage by welcoming the rap sensation to Paradise.

The music star, who has sold 50 million albums worldwide, is currently on a US Tour but will likely embark on a UK tour next year. It will interesting to see whether he continues to wear the Hoops or if it was a clever marketing trick by Macklemore and Adidas, who collaborate together.

Elsewhere, Celtic won at the potentially perilous Tony Macaroni Arena on Saturday despite going down to ten men. The Scottish Champions lost Joe Hart to a straight red card, the first of his career, while 1-0 up. However, Brendan Rodgers decided to go narrow and put Daizen Maeda and Kyogo Furuhashi upfront, resulting in a controlled performance and 3-0 win.
