Celtic release Champions League teaser as Group Stages draw nearer

Celtic are beginning to tease the club’s long-awaited return to the Champions League Group Stages. The club released a teaser earlier today with clips of famous goals and games in Europe’s premier competition. The Scottish Champions go straight into the Group Stages after winning the Premiership last season.

The riches of the Champions League are well-documented but the spectacle of going toe-to-toe with Europe’s elite excites everyone connected to the football club. In the clip that the club released, manager Ange Postecoglou spoke about why the competition is important to the club before a selection of goals from famous nights under the lights.

The draw for the Group Stages will take place on August 25th in Istanbul, Turkey. The draw will begin at 5pm, Celtic Park time. Real Madrid will enter the competition as favourites and as the competition’s most successful team. However, Celtic are in a unique group of previous winners of ‘The Big Cup’.

The game against Rangers in February felt like a European night and the atmosphere on the three Group Stage nights will be something to savour. The games come thick and fast for Celtic due to the reformated schedule this year due to the World Cup in Qatar.
