Francesco Farioli, bold move or bad move?…
Another name that has supposedly held talks with Celtic is highly rated Italian Francesco Farioli. Like most I haven’t heard of him, but he’s apparently one of the most talented up and coming coaches in the game and is highly regarded by many in football. The link with the Italian for the Celtic job comes from Daily Record so you can take that whichever way you choose.
At 34 he’s young in managerial terms and has already amassed two years experience of being a number one at a high level in the Turkish Super Lig with Fatih Karagumruk and Alanyaspor. Like a few modern day managers his playing career was non existent and he instead dedicated his career to coaching from a young age.
Having being a number one at such a high level speaks high volumes for such a young guy, he’s clearly a talented man, but is he the right man for Celtic?
Appointment someone such as Farioli could be seen as a bold move. He could turn out to be a gem and a future great in the game of management, or then again he could crash and burn and never be heard of again. Is that a risk the club are willing to take? It seems very unlikely but one thing at this demonstrates is that Celtic’s search for a replacement for Ange Postecoglou is thorough and wide-ranging in the type of candidate that might be suited to the Celtic job.
At this stage however it looks like it is going to be a return to Celtic for Brendan Rodgers, if he decides that he wants the job. We’ll find out soon enough.

Rodgers shock 2019 #Celtic exit remains a bone of contention for many fans. But right now the manager who won 7 out of 7 trophies IS the best qualified candidate. Knutsen was my first choice but now Rodgers & Celtic are talking I sense forgiveness may yet be in the Parkhead air. https://t.co/q5VswQEfkx
