Celtic reportedly interested in Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper

Celtic require reinforcements in a number of positions this January. They have already managed to sign a new striker in the form of Patryk Klimala and will most probably turn their attention towards improving their midfield and defence now. But one position that has not been talked much about is between the sticks.

Fraser Forster has firmly established himself as the first choice keeper at the club since arriving on a season-long loan from Southampton earlier in the summer. And his performance in the Scottish League Cup final win against the Rangers at Hampden Park will surely go down in Celtic folklore and rightfully so. In Scott Bain and Craig Gordon, the club have able back-up in case the Englishman was to go down with injury.

Gordon though has been continuously linked with a move away from the club in search of regular football. And if the former Scottish international was to leave, the Hoops would be needing a third goalkeeper. Of course, Conor Hazard could fill that role. But if reports in the Sheffield Star are to be believed, then Celtic might be looking for a more experienced option in the form of 24-year-old Sheffield Wednesday keeper, Cameron Dawson.

Dawson has established himself as the first-choice keeper under Garry Monk but his contract runs out at the end of the season. The goalkeeper has kept 8 clean-sheets this season and could represent a solid piece of business if the club manage to land him on a free transfer.
