Celtic Shorts: “We carry the responsibility playing for this team,” Tony Ralston

Anthony Ralston was clearly disappointed with both the performance and the scoreline after the 2-1 defeat to Sydney FC in the opening match of the Sydney Cup earlier today. And the Celtic right-back, himself a Celtic supporter, is particularly upset at the outcome given the incredible support Celtic had at the Allianz Stadium were The Celtic Support actually outnumbered the local A-League side.

“It’s special. To be able to see the fans over here, the fanbase that we have globally,” Ralston said. “You obviously see the fanbase back home in Glasgow, which is the best in the world, then you come away here and you just see how strong the fanbase is around the world.

“It’s special, but we carry the responsibility playing for this team and friendlies or league games, they support us and pay to come to see us, so it’s important that we keep giving back to them.”
