It’s astonishing that some decisions are made without giving any real thought about the consequences for those who are affected.
It’s not cheap to nip over to Paris to watch football at the best of times, never mind when there’s a global pandemic going on and travelling is difficult.
Despite that, a report from The Sun has suggested that a large number of Celtic fans were simply contacted last night to say their ticket purchase for tonight’s game had fallen through.
They were then told they would be refunded before the dreaded “we are sorry for any inconvenience caused”
Of course booking travel, hotels and actually making the journey for a game you can’t watch is quite a major inconvenience, so this update from the Celtic SLO’s Twitter account is a welcome one. John Paul Taylor had this good news for the travelling Hoops:
Updated info for fans in Paris, go to Gate E at the Stadium with proof of your ticket purchase and you will be allowed to re purchase a ticket for tonight’s match 🍀

That’s brilliant for those who are in Paris, but something does need to be done for those who made plans to travel on the day.
If anyone is out of pocket due to travel or hotel bookings then it’s only right for PSG to apologise and refund that, but that’s not been confirmed yet.
It’s not clear if there was some kind of electronic malfunction or if this was some kind of late security decision, but at least there’s been some kind of victory to ensure the fans can attend.
All Celtic fans who got tickets cancelled go to gate e at the stadium
