Celtic smash attendance record at Paradise this afternoon

Celtic have smashed the attendance at a Women’s game with 15,822 attending for this afternoon’s SWPL game against Hearts. With Fran Alonso’s side going for the title, this was met with incredible turnout form the Celtic support.

Having set the record less than two weeks ago, Celtic have again set a new record as they hoped to celebrate a title this afternoon. It was agonisingly close for the Ghirls, who fought valiantly until the end.

Celtic won 2-0 thanks to goals from Caitlin Hayes and Natasha Flint but a 92nd minute winner from Glasgow City at Ibrox sealed the title for City.

Credit to Celtic, they’re fight back to put themselves into the position to compete against the two teams with the bigger budgets. You have to think that the disallowed goal against Rangers was fatal to the league charge.

There was enormous emotion around the ground as it was realised Rangers hadn’t equalised back at Ibrox.

Now, onto victory in the Cup Final for both Fran’s team and Ange’s team.
