Celtic Support’s Negative Reaction to yesterday’s Joint Fan Organisation Statement

Celtic Supporters have been reacting to the ‘Joint Fan Organisation Statement” that was issued yesterday by Celtic Trust, Green Brigade, Bhoys and a few other associated groups outlining their ongoing dissatisfaction with the Celtic Board, which since 1 July is now under the leadership of Dom McKay rather than Peter Lawwell.

There are clearly residue issues carrying over from last season and beyond that these groups remain unhappy with, most notably the Celtic Trust’s frustration at the lack of engagement from the Celtic Board.

Earlier this week Celtic Trust Chair David Low resigned with immediate effect as we reported HERE.

Here is the latest statement from the ‘Joint Fan Organisation’ which is getting a negative reaction to say the least and includes a spelling mistake on Ange’s surname.

And here is some of the reaction that followed from supporters to this statement being posted by The Celtic Trust.

“No wonder David Low stepped down from the trust. I’d be embarrassed to be associated with you lot too. Grow up and either support the team or don’t. Glasgow is no place for poseurs.”

“Need more detail than that. Improved treatment in what way? What structural change?”

“It’s just gobbledygook- if the board came out with those sort of bullet points they’d rightly be pilloried.”

“I appreciate a lot of the hard work that the Trust put in to let the fans be heard but this is a wrong move. Please reconsider.”

“Sorry folk, I know your hearts are in the right place, but this is a mega mistake!”

“Glad you recognise that you don’t represent all Celtic fans. Get this so far away. Embarrassing.” …Reply: “Questioning the board’s horrendous decisions is embarrassing? Nae worries.”…Reply: What decisions are they questioning with this?”

David Low resigned as Chair of Celtic Trust earlier this week with immediate effect.

“Is this the reason David Low stepped away? Seems contradictory by backing the club but don’t back the club. Not for me. Will also seriously consider my Trust membership as well.”

“Grow up. In fact, bolt.”

“Don’t spend your money until we decide to can do so” nae bother.”

“What a load of utter nonsense…I am not surprised what I am surprised about is others willing to put their name to this!”

“PR disaster for the trust.”

“Correct hope Dom McKay bans the lot of them.. I’m done now not even kicked a ball and there doing this, crazy…”

“Fans media invited to press conference – tick. Fans invited to forum with new manager and new CEO – tick.
Within days of new manager a couple of signings – tick. I’m happy just now and don’t need to wait till January.
I’m guessing you will all still be taking your away tickets.”

“You want ample support to rebuild the squad, but asking supporters to hold off in buying merchandise/match day purchases for 6 months, thereby choking what is a significant revenue stream for the club? Well thought out.”

“Absolute Nonsense! And don’t forget to buy your “Celtic Trust” Shares, giz peace I’m surprised at some of these organisations supporting this statement.”

“Not the way we want to begin the new season and fresh start. This type of statement will continue to cause arguments and division when we should be 100% behind manager and squad and not doing things that will cause problems to hinder chance of success.”

“Seriously?”

“Joint fan” reeks of embarrassment. I had hoped the Trust was a valid vehicle to engage with …”

“You spelt his name wrong there lads.”

“Couldn’t even spell the manager’s name right.”

“Club1872 laughing at us now.”…”It sounds like the fans group on the other side.”

“Starve the club of money and give it to us so we can take the huff if they don’t agree with us, need to grow up.”

“Utterly embarrassing stuff from them.”

“Last season is history can we not just support new regime and make history?”

“I only got to the part where you spelt our new managers name wrong, the first time.”

“Bit hypocritical asking the board for increased communication with the fans when you haven’t even replied to a single comment on your statement.”

“Putting the board on notice? I take it the first draft of this was written in crayon? Absolute wee boy patter.”

“What a load of waffle. We are all pissed off about last season and at the board but I have renewed my season ticket. I will also buy any merchandise that takes my fancy and can handle my lockdown gains, I urge you to do the same.”

“An absolute embarrassment of a statement..”

“How can we improve the team if you plan to strangle hold it but not buying merchandise etc? Sounds more like your wanting our money than investing it into the club?”

“An absolute joke of a statement.”

“I’m peed off about last season as the next Celtic supporter, but this is a serious miscalculation of the wider support. Its amateurish and ultimately childish. If you want to hurt Celtic then why go – plenty of people would love to take the seats. I’ll buy what i want thanks.”

“Everyone’s entitled to their opinion but just can’t see this as a constructive plan. If it becomes clear that the new CEO & manager aren’t being supported as the season goes on then no-one will disagree with this course of action, just think it’s the wrong time to do it.”

On and on it goes. It should be mentioned among the almost universal criticism of the statement from Joint Fan Organisation, two accounts Celts for Change 2021 and The Shamrock each posted these clapping hands applauding the statement. The rest are clearly not in favour of what has been stated and suggested in this statement as the wider Celtic support look to back Dom McKay and Ange Postecoglou in their re-build job currently underway.

What a slap in the face to the new Manager and CEO, starve the club of funds but want the club to back the Manager on recruitment is a bit of a contradiction. Do they not even realise how this effects the vibes around the club at the start of a new season. Re-assess this decision and quickly, or you will face the wrath of the wider Celtic support.

The whole lot of then are wankers that care more about politics than a Football Club. These groups use Celtic football club for their own political agenda, I support Celtic ‘Football’ Club because of football and have a season ticket and go to matches to watch football. Thus I do not support these groups in any way.

To as they call it starve the club of income is just nonsense because of 1 BAD season. Celtic fans have been blessed with success for 9 seasons prior and have had 4 of the best seasons and arguably the best run in Scottish Football.

We are disappointed not getting the 10 but COVID has not helped Celtic of an on the park. Supporters make me laugh they all think they know how to run a football club and they all know how to managed a football team whilst lounging at home venting on Social Media

Delighted with the new structure at Celtic Park.
Let’s get behind our club and support it unconditionally.
    Hail hail.
