Celtic Target Joins Fans in Rome

Former Celtic target Johnny Russell has been pictured in Rome with the Celtic fans ahead of tonight’s Group E match versus Lazio.

The Kansas City striker spoke of his desire to play for Celtic last month as his deal in the USA runs down; he’ll be hoping that Celtic have him in mind to act as support for Odsonne Edouard.

Last month, we did an article on whether Russell had what it takes to be a Celtic player – see here. As January approaches, you have to think that Neil Lennon, the man that wanted to sign him from United, may be thinking the same.

The former-Dundee United man is a well known Celtic fan and while he was at Derby County came up to see his beloved team on more than one occasion. However, with life in the States, seeing Celtic becomes harder but fortunately he is on his close season with the MLS outfit and will have been in Scotland seeing family – meaning a short flight to Rome was manageable.
