Celtic target looks set for a summer move after teammate says a public goodbye

Sometimes it’s painfully obvious that a player needs to leave a team to further their career, and Shon Weissman has proven he deserves a chance at a higher level.

The Wolfsberger striker won the golden boot in the Austrian Bundesliga with 30 goals last season, and a report from HITC has looked at what the future could hold.

They confirm that he’s been linked with a move to Celtic as they possibly look for an alternative to Eddy, and it now appears inevitable that he’ll be on the move this summer.

They claim that his teammate Michael Liendl gave him a public goodbye in a recent interview with Austrian media, but it’s still not clear where he could end up.

He could be a fascinating signing for Celtic, as there’s a lot to like when you look deeper into him. He’s still only 24 so there’s time for growth, he’s clearly prolific but he’s also shown the ability to score spectacular goals too.

The lack of experience at a higher level will always be a concern, but Celtic would probably need to accept that he wouldn’t stick around for a long time either.

He’s clearly used Wolfsberger as an opportunity to build his profile and earn a move to a bigger side, so it wouldn’t surprise anyone if he had a couple of good years before trying to force a move to England.

Clearly he’s available and Celtic have shown an interest, and he should be an exciting signing if he did make the move to Celtic Park.
