Celtic will face either Real Madrid or Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League Play Offs. After a night of permutations in Europe’s top competition, Celtic were beaten by Aston Villa in an enthralling game at Villa Park.
The result, along with results elsewhere, mean that Celtic will face the European Champions or Vincent Kompany’s Bayern. Both games are certainly set to be entertaining games but Brendan and his side would have been hoping for results to go their way to avoid a draw like this.
The draw takes place on Friday, 31 January 2025 with Celtic to face either the Champions or the German giants. The other side will face Manchester City to make it into the Last 16.
The first leg will take place on either 11/12 February with the second 18/19 February 2025.
The Last 16 games take place on 4/5 & 11/12 March 2025. If Celtic were to beat Real or Bayern, they will face either Atletico Madrid or Bayer Leverkusen in the Last 16.
Brendan will want to strengthen his team ahead of the play-off round. Jota has signed but the manager will want another striker to compete with Adam Idah in attack, especially given that Daizen will be unavailable for the first leg after his red card last week.
