Greek giants closing in on deal to sign Celtic’s Luis Palma

Greek giants Olympiacos are reportedly closing in on a deal to sign Luis Palma. The Honduran came on as a substitute in Celtic’s spirited defeat to Aston Villa at Villa Park.

According to Giannis Chorianopoulos, Editor of Greek newspaper Sportime, Olympiacos are close to completing the signing of Palma from Celtic.

The arrival of Jota from Rennes made it feel inevitable that a move would be forthcoming for Palma. The Portuguese winger will look to compete with Daizen Maeda and Nicolas Kühn for the two wide positions under Brendan.

Palma has played 12 times this season and has failed to really make an impact. The player’s attitude towards training has been praised by Brendan but it is clear that the player is keen to get regular first team football. A number of teams have been linked with a move but you would expect that both the player and club would prefer a permanent move.

Celtic are hoping to be doing more business as the window draws towards a close on February 3rd. Kieran Tierney is wanted on loan after the 27-year-old agreed a pre-contract to join in the summer. The manager has also stated he wants another striker to compete with Adam Idah after Kyogo left for Rennes.
