Celtic to reward Daizen Maeda with bumper new deal

Celtic look set to offer Daizen Maeda a bumper new contract in recognition of his fine form. The Japanese Internationalist looks a certainty to win the Celtic Player of the Year honour with the player tipped as being favourite for the POTY award in Scotland too.

According to Sun Sport, Celtic want to keep the 27-year-old.

Maeda’s current deal expires in 2027 but Celtic are keen to warn off any potential transfer interest in their star attacker. The player is happy at Celtic and wants to remain with the Scottish Champions, especially given his fine displays in the UEFA Champions League.

Daizen has scored 29 goals this season and will be looking to score even more in the ‘business end’ of the season. Brendan will be hopeful that his talisman can combine with the rest of his frontline to fire Celtic towards a Treble.
