Celtic are in talks with Rennes over a move for Brandon Soppy. The 19-year-old right-back is extremely highly rated and a number of sides are interested in signing the French U19. However, Fabrizio Romano said that the Hoops were in talks and were extremely keen on bringing the Rennes full-back to Paradise.
Another journalist Ekrem Konur has said that Ange Postecoglou’s side have made a £3m bid, which has been rejected by the Ligue 1 side.

Now, L’Equipe are reporting that the Brittany side have set a transfer price of £4.3m to release Soppy from his current deal, which expires next season. Celtic have been set a price that is a fair valuation for an extremely talented youngster. The report says that the player is expected to leave but Celtic can ill-afford missing out on Soppy given the lack of depth at right-back that we currently have. The manager will know that signing Soppy is a must if we are to put ourselves in a favourable position regarding qualifying for The Champions League and winning back the league.
