Kyogo Furuhashi came off the bench as Celtic beat Dundee United on Wednesday evening. The Japanese striker replaced Adam Idah in the second half in the 2-0 win. However, after the game it emerged that the Official MLS Soccer website had posted an article claiming that Atlanta United had acquired Kyogo from Celtic, which they quickly deleted.
A Google search confirmed that the article had indeed been posted but the link did not work.

It appears that the MLS website has posted that Atlanta United have acquired striker Kyogo Furuhashi from Celtic FC as a Designated Player signing.
However, the link to the article does not work.

Atlanta, who are managed by ex-Celtic manager Ronny Deila, have been cited as having an interest in Kyogo with a £10m transfer move pondered. Kyogo made the strange move in the summer to switch his agents to CAA Base, a move which suggested that he had an exit strategy on his mind.
Atlanta did announce the signing of Cayman Togashi earlier today, which might explain the hasty deletion of the MLS article but it is a glaring error on their part. The 31-year-old is a forward but he has not been listed as a designated player, something that the article says Kyogo would be.
Kyogo has scored 10 goals in all competitions this season, as well as 3 assists. The 29-year-old is still the best striker at the club but it appears that he’s suffered in the more patient buildup of attacking football that is preferred by Brendan.
Under Ange, Kyogo had an astonishing 54 goals and 10 assists in 86 appearances. The player may feel that he has achieved all he can in Glasgow after a successful three and a half years so far. Although, you would hope that Celtic can keep a hold of him until the summer at least with the volume of games in all different competitions. If the player does want to move on then Celtic need to ensure that a replacement is in the door before sanctioning an exit.
Hopefully it is simply a mistake from Major League Soccer and they have jumped the gun, reading too heavily into the rumours that were going around.
