Celtic turn on the style, unhappy Riley’s Clyde 1 call

Celtic not the only ones turning on the style yesterday, Clyde’s Superscoreboard phone in was also great entertainment…

Celtic produced a flawless display yesterday as we extended our lead at the top of the table to five points, and a massive 14 points ahead of our so called rivals in third place. They scrapped a 1-0 win at St Johnstone today with the assistance of an own goal but it at leasts narrows the gap on Celtic to just 11 points. Small mercies eh Bears?

You’d think that would be satisfactory to most Celtic supporters, but one in particular found it too much to comprehend. Okay he wasn’t a Celtic supporter (well I pray he wasn’t) but I’ll play along anyway. I didn’t hear the ‘infamous’ call to Clyde 1s super scoreboard phone in post match yesterday, but like a lot of you, I seen it plastered all over social media.

‘Celtic supporter Riley’ phoned in and voiced his displeasure at seeing his side cruise to a 5-0 lead in the first forty minutes of the game, reckoning it was ‘bad for the Scottish game’ so much so that he decided to leave at half time! Yes, he was disappointed at seeing some wonderful football, and some great goals! Makes you wonder why he bothers to go to games!

Dominating games and Scottish football? You should be ashamed of yourselves Celtic. Maybe Riley should go to Ibrox if he wants to see some mediocre football, and a team starved of success. Or call me cynical if i dare to suggest that’s where ‘Riley’ heart does indeed belong….

Where we you Riley, back in the 1990s when “we stood with pride and took defeat”? Probably celebrating in Govan.

About Author

An ordinary everyday Celtic supporters hailing and still residing in Govan in the shadows of the enemy. I’m a season ticket holder. I Witnessed my first Celtic game in 1988 and have attended when I can ever since. Growing up in the 90s I witnessed Celtic at their lowest, and now appreciate the historic success we enjoy today. I enjoy writing about this wonderful football club and hopefully will continue to do so. I’ve always been a keen writer and initially started this a hobby. My ambition is to one day become as good an author as my fellow Celtic Star colleagues.

  1. This Riley may (or may not) be a Celtic supporter.
If he is and if he is a season book holder, then he should give it up so that it can go to someone on the waiting list who would appreciate the marvellous football on display, which no other club in Scotland can provide. He obviously does appreciate it and should get his kicks somewhere else. Try the klub across the water.
On the other hand, it would not be a surprise if he was just another Celtic hater pretending to be something he isn’t. Therefore, he should get a life.
