Celtic v AZ Alkmaar – team news, kick off time and where to watch

Celtic face AZ Alkmaar tonight in the first leg of the Europa League Play-Off. After beating FK Jablonec 7-2 in the last round, Ange Postecoglou’s side will be hoping that they can continue their impressive form against the Dutch club. It will be a stern test against the Eredivisie, that finished third in their league last year.

Team News

Postecoglou will be without Ryan Christie, after confirming that the versatile attacking midfielder would miss the game after picking up a knock against FK Jablonec. Liel Abada returns, which is a boost for Postecoglou’s side as they look to put one foot into the Europa League Group Stages. The Israeli attacker missed wins over the Czech side as well as the League Cup win over Hearts.

James McCarthy is registered for this round, having not been registered for the games against FK Jablonec. The midfielder takes his place in the squad in place of Leo Hjelde. The deal for Josip Juranovic appears to be nearing but even if it is concluded tonight, the player is ineligible for the play-off as he played for Legia in their Champions League Qualifiers.

Christopher Jullien, Karamoko Dembele and Mikey Johnston remain out injured.

Kick Off Time

The game kicks off at 7.45pm (Celtic Park Time)

Where to Watch

The game will be taken in by a nearly full stadium, minus the red zone area for UEFA. However, there are still a handful of tickets available. For those that are unable to go, the game is available via a PPV service.

It is a huge night for the club tonight, hopefully the fans can give the team the boost to get a win. Come on Celtic!
