Champions League Special – Fran Alonso and Kelly Clark speak to Celtic Fan Media ahead Levante match…
Fran Alonso described Celtic’s first ever match in the Women’s Champions League this afternoon against Spanish side Levante as a “must enjoy experience’ for his players. The Spanish coach sees the two matches that Celtic will play in Trondheim against Levante this afternoon (the match is live on BBC Alba) and then on Saturday against either Rosenborg or FC Minsk as being a reward for his side’s outstanding achievement last season in reaching the Women’s Champions League.

“Enjoy the occasion” Alonso said, recognising that the high quality opposition in Levante are perhaps as difficult an opponent as Celtic could have got at this stage.
Celtic captain Kelly Clark then spoke to The Celtic Star and other fan media and clearly there is real excitement in the squad ahead of these matches. We also had a word with Kelly, who began her football journey up at Forfar Farmington about her thoughts in the sad news last week concerning the Angus club having with withdraw from the SWPL1 this season due to failing to get a squad together.
