Celtic v Bayern Munich – Spectacular photos of Paradise from the sky

Celtic welcomed Bayern Munich to Celtic Park last night for the first leg of the UEFA Champions League play-off round as both sides eyed a place in the last 16 of football’s premier club competition…

Key decision on the night went against Celtic

Celtic had no luck with either the stunning goal from Nicolas Kühn in the opening 30 seconds falling foul of some bizarre intervention from VAR, then when the referee behind the camera used his eagle-eye to point out that Arne Engels was due a penalty this foot stamp, the referee didn’t want to know. No wonder Kasper Schmeichel was raging! UEFA sure do like getting their ‘big league’ teams through to the latter stages.

You can read plenty more about all of this on Sandman’s Definitive Ratings.

Anyway all that aside, here are some rather special images from Celtic Park last night from the sky with Paradise looking spectacular to say the least. The photographer is Vagelis Georgariou, who covers away matches and games at Hampden for The Celtic Star.  Have a look…

Here’s another image of the Green Brigade’s pre-match tifo from ground level inside the stadium…ironic that the Bhoy is praying to God and the referee who didn’t think that was a penalty is called Jesus!
