Daizen’s availability was a pre-match boost

We all got a welcoming boost with the news that Daizen Maeda was available for last night’s game against Bayern Munich, and he proved why by putting in another fine battling performance, whilst adding yet another goal to his impressive tally this campaign.

That goal was indeed his fourth in European football’s elite tournament this season, making him the club’s top scorer in a single campaign at group stage level since the competition was rebranded in 1992.

Daizen’s proud achievement

Daizen now sits above the likes of Henrik Larsson, Chris Sutton, Georgios Samaras, and Moussa Dembele and current team mate Adam Idah for goals scored in a single campaign.

That is some achievement, and it needs to be applauded. And of course with a trip to Munich next week he could well add to that impressive tally.

Maeda is the best striker at Celtic this season bar none

Daizen is becoming one of our most valuable assets in recent years, and is undoubtedly our most important player at this moment in time. He’s added a new dimension to his game and is rapidly becoming the complete footballer, under Brendan Rodgers who like the rest of us will now see Daizen as the best striker at the club this season, bar none.

Impressing at the very top level proves just that, and he’s rapidly becoming a highly regarded player not just in Scotland, but in the European game.
