Celtic v Dundee – SFA confirm referee appointment for midweek clash

Celtic face Dundee on Wednesday evening as Brendan Rodgers’ side look to build up their late win against Motherwell at Fir Park. The Scottish Champions host Tony Docherty’s Dundee while Rangers travel to Rugby Park to play Killie.

The SFA have confirmed the appointment of referee Matthew MacDermid. The referee will be assisted by Sean Carr and Graham McNeville. Ross Hardie will operate as Fourth Official.

Meanwhile, at Clydesdale House, Euan Anderson is on VAR with Frank Connor assisting.

VAR was involved in Celtic’s win on Sunday with a hit rate of 50%. Gavin Duncan declined the opportunity to invite Willie Collum to review after Yang’s shot appeared to hit a Motherwell hand in the box. However, he did tell the referee to go to the monitor after Idah was hauled down by Callum Butcher. Collum correctly awarded a yellow card before the VAR official told him to check for himself.

MacDermid has officiated three Celtic games this season, all home games. The 30-year-old first officiated the 0-0 draw with St Johnstone, the 3-1 win over Kilmarnock and then the 2-0 win against Livingston before Christmas.
