Celtic v Dundee: team news, referee details, KO time & where to watch

Celtic face Dundee in the Fifth Round of the Scottish Gas Scottish Cup. Martin O’Neill’s side have added a number of new faces to the squad and they’ll look to secure their place in the next round of the Cup by dismissing the Dens Park side.

The Scottish Champions did not play during the week after Aberdeen’s pitch failed to cope with the weather. This meant that the Celtic squad got a week on the training field with Shaun Maloney, Fozzy & Co as they look to hit a purple patch.

Team News

MON has added a number of players to the squad in January with Julian Araujo, Tomas Cvancara and Junior Amada all expected to be involved this afternoon.

Expect Kasper Schmeichel to start in nets despite Vil Sinisalo starting on the last Cup outing.

Auston Trusty and Liam Scales will likely start together in the centre of defence with Julian Araujo and Kieran Tierney in the fullback berths.

In midfield, Callum McGregor will start in the deeper role with Arne Engels, who was subject to a late bid on deadline day from Nottingham Forest. Benji Nygren will likely start in the advanced role.

Celtic now have an abundance of options in attack and the manager will want to get minutes in the legs of his team.

Daizen Maeda could start out left with Tomas Cvancara through the middle and Junior Amada off the right.

Predicted XI: Schmeichel; Tierney, Scales, Trusty, Araujo; McGregor, Engels, Nygren, Maeda, Cvancara, Junior.

Referee Details

The SFA have confirmed the appointment of Ryan Lee for the Scottish Cup tie.

Lee will be assisted by David McGeachie and Douglas Ross.

Meanwhile, at Clydesdale House, David Dickinson is on VAR and he will be assisted by Andrew Dallas.

Kick Off Time

The game kicks off at 5:30pm (Celtic Park Time).

Where to Watch

Premier Sports will cover with the game with coverage from Celtic Park starting at 5pm.

The game has an added dynamic given that The Celtic Collective have called for a boycott of the game to force executive change. The move appears to have forced some action from the club with Brian Wilson confirming that the club had approached a number of supporters groups in an attempt to resolve issues. Everyone wants unity and everyone wants the team to succeed, hopefully everyone is back in the ground as soon as possible.
