Celtic v Dundee United – team news, kick off time and where to watch

Celtic face Dundee United today as Ange Postecoglou’s side return to Premiership action. The opening six games of the new campaign have resulted in three wins and three defeats, something that the manager knows is nowhere near good enough. A midweek win over Raith Rovers booked a trip to Hampden for the League Cup semi-finals but the focus will be solely on Tam Courts’ United.

Team News

Celtic currently have a threadbare side with key players missing. The manager urged the team to get on with it in the absence of some regular first team stars.

In defence, Christopher Jullien remains out injured. The French defender is nearing a return but that will not be until the international break in October concludes. Greg Taylor’s surgery was successful on his shoulder but he is out for the foreseeable.

In midfield, Callum McGregor remains out. The Celtic captain has a hamstring concern and the club are managing this until he is able to return to the fold as not to aggravate the injury and rule him out for a lengthy period. James McCarthy bagged an assist against Rovers and he will likely continue until McGregor returns.

In attack, Celtic are short on options. James Forrest will be out until after October’s International Break. Mikey Johnston picked up another knock after his cameo against Livi and is a doubt. Jota also picked up a slight knock but the manager thinks he will be fine.

Kyogo Furuhashi remains out injured and new signing Giorgos Giakoumakis is a major doubt after injuring his calf in the warmup on Thursday. This leaves Albian Ajeti as Celtic’s only striker.

Predicted XI: Hart; Juranovic, Carter-Vickers, Starfelt, Ralston; McCarthy, Rogic, Turnbull; Jota, Ajeti, Abada.

Kick Off Time

The game kicks off at 3pm, Celtic Park Time.

Where to Watch?

The game will be shown on The Pass to Paradise for ST holders that cannot attend. The game is also being shown via a PPV, primarily for away supporters that are unable to attend due to Celtic relocating fans from Main Stand.

For Celtic TV subscribers outside the UK & Ireland, the game will be shown on that platform.
