Celtic face Falkirk this evening as life after Brendan begins. The Irishman left Celtic on Monday evening after sensationally tendering his resignation and leaving with the majority of his coaching staff.
Martin O’Neill and Shaun Maloney will take the team on an interim basis; making this game against The Bairns the hottest ticket in town.
Team News
Celtic go into the game without Cameron Carter-Vickers, Alistair Johnston, Kelechi Iheanacho and Jota. The first team quartet are injured and will not take part. Celtic welcome back Daizen Maeda, who returns from a hamstring injury.
In goals, expect Kasper Schmeichel to start in goals.
In defence, expect Auston Trusty to come into the team to partner Liam Scales with Tony Ralston at right back and Kieran Tierney at left back.
In midfield, it will likely be Reo Hatate and Arne Engels in beside Callum McGregor.
In attack, expect Daizen to start with James Forrest and Seb Tounetki. The interim manager may take the view that Maeda shouldn’t be risked from the start given the importance of Sunday with Shin Yamada and Johnny Kenny options.
Referee Details
Ryan Lee will take charge of the game at Celtic Park. Lee will be assisted by Ross Macleod and David Dunne in their capacity as the assistant referees.
Meanwhile at Clydesdale House, Grant Irvine takes charge of VAR duties, with Gary Hilland as the assistant on VAR.
Kick Off Time
The game kicks off at 7:45pm (Celtic Park Time).
Where to Watch
The game is not on TV but Celtic TV confirmed that the game will be shown on the club’s streaming platform on a PPV basis.
