Celtic v Hearts – last time out as Hatate & Giakoumakis combine for win

Celtic play Hearts this afternoon with the league title in touching distance. Three points against Robbie Neilson’s would all but confirm the club’s 52nd League Flag. However, there will be a lot of work to be done against the Scottish Cup Finalists.

One of the pivotal moments across this league campaign was certainly the win at Tynecastle in January. Celtic went 2-0 up thanks to a stunner from Reo Hatate and a well worked Giorgos Giakoumakis finish. As Ange’s men pushed forward for a third, they found themselves on the receiving end of a Liam Boyce finish.

The Irishman, who grew up a Celtic fan, passed up the opportunity to draw things level as his penalty struck the post and flashed across the face of goal. Celtic were resilient and recorded a big three points, which would have a huge bearing on the momentum going into THAT game against Rangers at the beginning of February.

Today, Celtic can step towards regaining the Crown and also put Hearts to the sword. The game kicks off at 12pm and is on Sky.
