Celtic v Hearts: team news, KO time and where to watch

Celtic face Hearts this afternoon in the fourth matchday of the Cinch Premiership. The visitors from Gorgie arrive hoping to cause an upset against the Scottish Champions, who have won three out of three this season. Ange Postecoglou’s side are getting better with each game and they will look to go back to the top of the table with three points.

After Rangers dropped points at Easter Road, Celtic have the opportunity to go a few points clear if maximum points can be secured.

Team News

There are no fresh concerns for Ange ahead of this game. The positive headline is that Reo Hatate will be available for selection but you would imagine that the manager will be keen to stick with the XI that started the 5-0 win at Rugby Park while using those that made an impact from the bench.

Moritz Jenz limped off and was replaced by the returning Carl Starfelt, who scored, but you would expect the German to start as Starfelt is eased back into action following his injury layoff. In midfield, Hatate returns to the squad but you would expect Turnbull to get the nod after an impressive display in Ayrshire. Likewise with Maeda and Kyogo, despite the players that replaced them impressing. Giakoumakis scored his first goal of the season coming off the bench but he will be targeting more, even if they are from the bench.

Alexandro Bernabei is in contention to play despite reports earlier in the week regarding an off-field incident. The manager said that there were external and internal processes underway regarding this.

Predicted XI: Hart; Juranovic, Jenz, Carter-Vickers, Taylor; O’Riley, McGregor, Turnbull; Jota, Kyogo, Maeda.

Kick Off Time

The game will kick off at 3pm (Celtic Park time). Although the game is being played 24 hours later due to Hearts’ Europa League qualifier against FC Zurich last Thursday.

Where to Watch

The game will be played in front of a capacity crowd at Paradise. The game will be available on Celtic TV for supporters outside Britain and Ireland.
