Celtic v Livingston – team news, KO time and where to watch

Celtic face Livingston this afternoon as Ange Postecoglou’s side look to get revenge over David Martindale’s team after the narrow 1-0 defeat in September. A goal from Andrew Shinnie settled the affair as Celtic were made to pay for a momentary lapse in concentration. However, Celtic have been flying recently and the first half over Hibs will terrify teams as it shows just how clinical Celtic can be. The Hoops are averaging 2.36 goals per game so this means that there could be quite a few goals at Celtic Park today.

Livi are next up and the manager will know that a win can take Celtic top, for the first time since March 2020.

Team News

There is one major omission from the match day squad with Tom Rogic missing out. Rogic will miss the game with a hamstring problem. The playmaker, who was running riot at Easter Rd, pulled up and had to be replaced shortly before halftime. It is expected that he will return to action in a couple of weeks so there is an opportunity for someone to come into the Celtic midfield and impress.

In terms of defence, it will likely be Cameron Carter-Vickers and Carl Starfelt playing in front of Joe Hart. The full back positions again offers a conundrum for the manager but he will likely continue with Tony Ralston on the right and Josip Juranovic on the left.

Nir Bitton will likely come into the midfield allowing Callum McGregor to move forward. The Celtic skipper will be joined by David Turnbull in the midfield.

The manager’s headache will be who he starts as his front three – Abada, Giakoumakis and Johnston will all be vying for a place in the starting XI alongside Jota and Kyogo.

Kick Off Time

The game kicks off at 3pm (Celtic Park Time)

Where to Watch

The game will be played in front of a capacity crowd after the club confirmed tickets were sold out but fans will need to allow for delays due to COP26. The game won’t be shown on PPV. Please note that Pass to Paradise holders can watch the game digitally.
