Celtic v Livingston: Youthful referee appointed, Alan Muir on VAR

Celtic face Livingston on Saturday at Celtic Park as Brendan Rodgers’ side look to get back to winning ways. Ahead of the Glasgow Derby next weekend, Celtic will look to get themselves back firing on all cylinders and they will need to do that to beat the stubborn West Lothian side.
The SFA have confirmed the appointments of the refereeing team for the fixture with the 30-year-old Matthew MacDermid taking charge of the fixture. MacDermid will be assisted by Andy Milne and Daniel McFarlane with Alastair Grieve acting as Fourth Official. Meanwhile, at Clydesdale House, Alan Muir will on VAR with Andrew McWilliam assisting.
MacDermid has taken charge of two of Celtic’s games this season – the 0-0 draw with St Johnstone in August as well as the 3-1 win over Kilmarnock in August.
The Scottish Champions are two points ahead of Rangers and will need to make the most of the game against David Martindale’s relegation-threatened side. Rodgers has been vocal about requiring quality in his team but until the January window, there needs to be a united front at the club and that has been aided by the Green Brigade/Bhoys’ return at the weekend.
