Celtic v Rangers: John Lundstrum and Filip Helander doubts for Hampden clash

Rangers duo John Lundstrum and Filip Helander are doubts for next weekend’s Scottish Cup Semi Final at Hampden against Celtic after the pair were forced off in the game against St Mirren today. Celtic were rampant on Saturday, winning 7-0 over St Johnstone in a game that showcased their attacking talents. Rangers now could be without two defensive players ahead of a huge week for their team.

Rangers won in Paisley but still find themselves six points adrift of Celtic in the league and nineteen goals worse off. Ange Postecoglou’s side will be relishing a trip to the National Stadium as they look to take another step towards a Treble.

Swedish defender Helander limped off holding his leg and was later seen in crutches, suggesting he won’t play a part at all next weekend. Lundstrum, meanwhile, left the field within the first half with a groin complaint. The defensive midfielder has been a big part of Giovanni Van Bronkhorst’s plans since he arrived at Rangers and should he be unavailable, it would be a huge blow for the Ibrox club.

Celtic will be more concerned with themselves as they look to seal a place in the Final against either Hearts or Hibs.
