Celtic v Rangers: Predicted XI with Brendan to make big midfield calls

Celtic face Rangers this afternoon in the Premier Sports League Cup Final. The Scottish Champions travel to the National Stadium to face their city rivals with the first piece of silverware up for grabs.

After the 0-0 draw against Dinamo Zagreb in the UEFA Champions League, Brendan may be considering making changes in the midfield with Luke McCowan and Arne Engels pushing for a start. The Hoops will be bolstered by the return of Alistair Johnston, who will be available after being substituted off against Zagreb.

Kasper Schmeichel will start in goals. The Dane could be returning to Hampden as part of the World Cup Qualifiers will be hoping to lift his first silverware with Celtic.

In defence, expect Auston Trusty and Cameron Carter-Vickers to continue in the central pairing with Greg Taylor on the left and Johnston on the right.

In midfield, it is expected that Callum McGregor will start at the heart of the central trio with Paulo Bernardo and Reo Hatate. Luke McCowan and Arne Engels will be hoping to make their impact felt at the National Stadium.

In attack, Kyogo will start through the middle with Daizen Maeda on the left and Nicolas Kühn on the right.
