Piling on the Agony – Adam Idah targets more Hampden glory against the Rangers

Adam Idah scored the winner in the first ever Glasgow Derby Scottish Cup Final back on 25 May 2024 and would like nothing more than to do the same again in the second League Cup final meeting between Celtic and theRangers at Hampden this afternoon…

The Irish striker has been speaking to Celtic TV with the club releasing the video via their social media channels this morning. Idah has been watching previous Celtic triumphs at Hampden and obviously got his first chance to experience that for himself in the Scottish Cup Final win against today’s opponents seven months ago. He’s hungry for more of the same today.

“These games are massive and to bring silverware back home is obviously amazing. Watching it before has been unreal, seeing all the celebrations and the amount of fun the lads had so this chance on Sunday is massive for us so we’ll have to go out and get it done. ”

“At the start of the season, I probably wasn’t too pleased with myself, coming in I had a tough pre-season.

“With goals, I probably wasn’t scoring as much as I would have liked to, but when I reflected back only a couple of weeks ago and I saw my stats, what I done, then it’s probably better than what I thought it was.

“What’s motivating me now is to just keep getting on the scoresheet. Things like these cup finals. I want to get to these cup finals. To win the European nights is always amazing, so there are so many things that motivate me and these players who want to strive to be the best. It’s all exciting and looking forward to it.”

Idah is likely to start on the bench this afternoon and be introduced with around half an hour to go in the Premier Sports Cup Final.

It’s likely that Brendan Rodgers will start with this team: Schmeichel; Johnston, Carter-Vickers, Trusty, Taylor; McGregor (c), Hatate, Bernardo; Kuhn, Kyogo and Maeda.
