Celtic v Rangers: Scottish Cup Semi Final confirmed

Celtic have drawn Rangers in the Semi Finals of the Scottish Cup. After the 3-0 win at Tannadice, Ange Postecoglou’s side will face their Glasgow rivals for a place in the 2022 Scottish Cup Final. Goals from Callum McGregor and Giorgos Giakoumakis sealed Celtic’s place in the hat and Celtic fan Greg Hemphill picked the teams out at the draw.

The Semi-Final will be played at Hampden on the weekend of April 16/17. It is the first time these teams had been involved in the semi finals of the competition. This means that they will play each other in the same of a few weeks.

Celtic will play the winner of Hearts v Hibs, if they are to dispose of Rangers. It will be a huge game for the Celts and a benchmark for Postecoglou’s team. An astonishing 3-0 win at the beginning of February highlighted how far Celtic have come but Rangers are in rich form with their wins in Europe proving that they will be a tough team to face.

Ange Postecoglou has already regained the League Cup for Celtic, having defeated Hibs in the Final back in December. Despite taking over in the summer, Postecoglou has transformed Celtic at an extraordinary rate. Celtic are now chasing a Treble, something that seemed unfathomable a year ago.
