Celtic v Real Betis – team news, KO time and where to watch

Celtic face Real Betis this evening in the final game of the Europa League campaign. Despite some impressive performances over the course of the campaign, Celtic will bow out of the Europa League and drop into the Last 32 of the Europa Conference League.

With that said, Ange Postecoglou has insisted that his side will be looking to take maximum points against the Spanish side. The La Liga outfit won 4-3 when the sides met on Matchday 1 in an engrossing match. However, tonight will likely see both teams play rotated sides with their places already sealed as well as games at the weekend in the back of their minds.

Team News

Celtic recorded an impressive win over Dundee United at Tannadice on Sunday and have no fresh injuries, despite David Turnbull being on the receiving end of a nasty challenge from Calum Butcher.

The manager said that he would rotate the pack and give some game time to players in the squad that had been impressing during training as well as resting those that had played a lot of minutes. This means that players like Callum McGregor and Kyogo can get a well earned rest ahead of a busy run of games.

Giorgos Giakoumakis remains out so we could see Albian Ajeti lead the line. Tony Ralston is a doubt after his ankle injury last week. Stephen Welsh and Christopher Jullien also remain sidelined.

Jota remains out until after the League Cup Final, which presents an opportunity to another one of Celtic’s wide men to stake a claim for a place for the Final next weekend.

Kick Off Time

The game will kick off at 8pm (Celtic Park Time) but fans are encouraged to get their in good time due to COVID-19 vaccine passports checks.

Where to Watch

The game will be shown on BT Sport 3 with coverage starting after Lyon host Rangers at 19:45.
