Celtic v St Johnstone – Andrew Dallas to referee Saturday’s game

The SFA have confirmed that Andrew Dallas will referee Saturday’s game between Celtic and St Johnstone. The 39-year-old hasn’t officiated Ange Postecoglou’s side in the Premiership this season and his appointment comes as the league leaders look to go nine points clear against the embattled Saints.

Dallas will be assisted by Sean Carr and Jonathan Bell with Alan Muir operating as Fourth Official. The game kicks off at 3pm and it is expected that there will be a full crowd there to cheer on the Bhoys.

Dallas, who’s father is Hugh, has been refereeing the Championship over the last few weeks. However, the number of games that he has been appointed in has decreased in recent seasons.

Celtic go into the game in a fine run of form. The win at Ibrox takes Ange Postecoglou’s side six points clear with six games to go. This fixture, the last before the split, offers Celtic a chance to go nine points clear with Rangers kicking off against St Mirren at midday on Sunday due to their Europa League commitments.
