Celtic websites get dragged into the Willie Collum VAR row

Looks like theRangers and their official media partners have been shown up for what they are…

The media statement by the SFA yesterday regarding publicised details of the ‘confidential’ meeting they held with theRangers isn’t surprising in the slightest. It’s also worth noting that the Scottish FA have NOT posted this statement on their own website.

The governing body have laid bare their displeasure at the Ibrox club’s version of events and have not held back in voicing their concerns over the way the club has handled the whole situation, as we reported last night.

The SFA had this to say in their statement:

“We note posts from a recent official media partner of the club’s, detailing requests from the private meeting that were immediately rejected,” the SFA statement read. “We would ask that club representatives show greater responsibility in such matters, especially in the context of recent incidents in European football that have compromised the safety of match officials and led to widespread condemnation.”

The SFA were measured in their words, but we all know between the lines it really read as..

“We are disappointed that theRangers decided to spin details of our confidential meeting through their mutant media partners to make it look like they were in the right and we were in the wrong. All because they want to deflect from the fact they didn’t get the result they desired on Saturday.

“This in turn gave their supporters a free rein to make the life of Willie Collum a living hell. They also demanded Mr Collum be removed from their fixtures for the foreseeable future, but we told them that was out of the question, because it didn’t work last time out.”

James Forrest over on The Celtic Blog covers this brilliantly this morning where he quotes the official media partner’s response where they have a go at the Celtic (fan media) websites, while at the same time admitting that these Celtic sites have been right all along!

Imagine paying £25k to sell your own soul.

Both the Ibrox club and their official media partners have been shown up for what they are.

Unprofessional, childish, arrogant and downright delusional and that includes the worst of the lot, that raging forum where the meltdown is still boiling away, despite Willie Collum doing the exact same thing in the Glasgow Derby a year ago (Goldson handball) and of course ignoring the big difference that this time it was OFFSIDE ANYWAY!
