Celtic will play in their world famous green and white hoops tonight

CELTIC will play in their world famous green and white Hoops this evening and not one of the second or even third choice strips that are often used when we are on the road in European football.

There is obviously a commercial aspect to the decision to play in these strips and Celtic have to lookout every revenue generating avenue open to them. Everyone accepts that. However there is a world famous brand image seeing Celtic play in the green and white Hoops.

Celtic probably have one of the most distinctive strips in the world, maybe the Ajax strip or the Brazil one occupy similar territory. The Hoops give Celtic a unique point of difference and maybe even, just a little bit, helps intimidate our opponents. Probably not but their support will have that vision of the Hoops in their heads and the worldwide television audience will be familiar with the strip we are wearing tonight and in contrast would have had no idea who we were from watching us in a change strip, had it been used.

So anyway, the good news is that we are wearing the Hoops and big Dorus, who is probably in for a much busier evening tonight, will be dashing in pink. Thanks to JPT the Celtic SLO for the info on the strips for tonight. COYBIG
