It is hardly surprising to see that Kyogo Furuhashi has made it into the SPFL Team of the Week following his display on Sunday afternoon at Hampden Park against theRangers. The little Japanese international has been sensational lately and capped it off with another brace to help us clinch out first domestic trophy of the season.
The former Vissel Kobe man has been on fire this year and is already on course to beat his goal scoring record last time out during his debut season in the Hoops. Despite his game going through slight dips in form throughout this campaign, he has been deadly in front of goal – much to the disdain and aggravation of the now departed Giorgos Giakoumakis, who must have wondered when Kyogo would go off the boil completely.

He has shown frightening form at the top end of the pitch and could very well smash the 30 goal barrier by the end of May if he keeps this up. One thing a team can never be short of is guys that know their way to the goal; Kyogo Furuhashi is certainly one such man. His goals have been absolutely essential this year in helping us pull away from the chasing pack to sit pretty at the top of teg League, looking down on theRangers.

The surprising thing is that the people at the cinch SPFL Team of the Week group failed to give him star man status after Sunday’s little demolition of the Ibrox outfit. Right enough, Kyogo’s fellow Japan teammate, Reo Hatate scooped that award just last week. Forgot the rule about not giving it to Celtic players every week!
