Celtic’s cinch Premiership match against St Mirren, which was postponed due to Celtic reaching the semi-finals of the League Cup, has now been re-scheduled for Wednesday 18 January with a 7.45pm kick-off.
The home match against St Mirren was due to take place on Saturday 14 January but Celtic are now at Hampden that day for the late afternoon (5.30pm) kick-off against Kilmarnock in the League Cup semi-final. That incidentally will be Celtic’s second meeting of 2023 with Derek McInnes’s side as the Ayrshire club are the visitors to Celtic Park the week before, playing Celtic on Saturday 7 January this time with a 3pm kick-off.
That’s Celtic’s second game of the New Year, The Bhoys first foot theRangers on Monday 2 January with a 12.30pm kick-off. There will be Scottish Cup action on or around Saturday 21 January and the month ends with a trip to Tannadice to take on Dundee United.
As far as the League match against St Mirren is concerned, Celtic will be looking to avenge the 2-0 defeat at the St Mirren Stadium in September which up until now at least are the only points that Ange Postecoglou’s side have dropped.
Let’s hope that this is still the case when the sides meet again on that Wednesday evening, 18 January.
Before all of that though it’s Motherwell tonight and the chance to collect another three points. COYBIG
