DARVEL FC have made a cheeky request on Twitter to Celtic after their proposed friendlies with Derry City and Dundalk appeared to fall through. The Ayrshire club have made an ambitious play to try and arrange a friendly with the Scottish Champions at their home Recreation Park.
Hi @CelticFC, we have heard a few issues about not being able to face your planned opponents at friendly games. Fancy a knock about at Recreation Park? #MTV 💙

Neil Lennon’s side are attempting to secure a fixture for this coming weekend ahead of the beginning of the new season the following weekend. Celtic will play Hamilton Accies but still require a fair amount of transfer business to be done.
Currently, the club only have one senior goalkeeper and two natural senior centre backs. It will need to be a busy week for Neil Lennon’s side as they need to strengthen ahead of the 10IAR season. Whilst the transfer business needs done, the club need to get a friendly fixture pencilled in so as to get the squad up to match fitness ahead of the beginning of the league season.
