Martin Boyle makes contract admission as social media rumours links him with Celtic move

IN JANUARY, Celtic were linked with Australian winger Martin Boyle. The 27-year-old has 12 months remaining on his deal at Easter Road and admitted that he doesn’t know what the future holds for him. Speaking to the Daily Record, Boyle says that he will focus on football and keep his future at the back of his mind.

“Nothing will change and I’ll go out there and give everything for the club.

“It’s on going at the moment and I’m not completely sure. I’m just trying to put that at the back of my mind, let everyone else sort that and just get on with my football.

“I’ve been doing that every season and hopefully I can just keep putting performances in.”

Despite an injury hell over the last two years, Boyle has still been one of Hibernian’s top performers and even earned the Player of the Month accolade in December.

Boyle was watched by Celtic in January but the £1.5m figure that Jack Ross put on his head appeared too much for the club hierarchy to sanction a move.

Twitter has linked the Scottish Champions with a move for the Australian internationalist to give the Scottish Champions some more depth in the wide areas following the departure of Scott Sinclair and Lewis Morgan in recent months. The reaction was, to say the least, mixed about the prospect of Celtic reigniting interest in the wide man.
