Sky Sports’ Dharmesh Sheth has confirmed that Chelsea have held internal talks about the possibility of signing Josip Juranovic. England defender Reece James was forced off the field with a recurring knee injury meaning that Graham Potter will need to delve into the transfer market in order to secure a replacement.

Celtic are said to be demanding £17m for the player’s signature. Although, it appears that the manager and club are prepared for his departure given the arrival of Alistair Johnston from CF Montreal.
Juranovic has been touted with moves away since January, such has been the quality of his performances. The former Legia Warsaw defender has attracted interest from England and Spain and having enjoyed an impressive World Cup campaign, you would expect that teams will strike up talks for the Croatian.
Juranovic has another three-and-a-half years on his deal at Celtic and, you would expect, the fee needed to prise him away from Glasgow’s East End is a realistic one. Whilst it is sore to see better players linked with exits, it is an inevitability that players will be sought after given Ange’s quality of play.
