Former Celtic striker Chris Sutton has reacted to his appearance at the Celtic Foundation Dinner on Thursday evening at Celtic Park. The Sky Sports pundit was sat alongside two men synonymous with his time at the club – Martin O’Neill and Neil Lennon as they spoke to supporters and famous faces there to show support to the club’s charitable arm.
Taking to Twitter/X, Sutton said it was a really enjoyable evening discussing their team despite talking a rinsing from O’Neill.
Really enjoyable evening alongside Neil Lennon getting rinsed by my old boss the brilliant Martin O’Neill supporting the Celtic Foundation. Great memories playing under Martin and Happy 72nd Birthday to him for today💚🍀 https://t.co/2g9bwXKCEr

Today marks the Irishman’s 72nd birthday and Sutton extended his former manager birthday wishes on the post, too.
O’Neill signed both Sutton and Lennon from the Premier League in his first season after arriving from Leicester City. The pair were multi-million acquisitions and formed the core of that team that enjoyed domestic success as well as that memorable European run.
Lennon and Sutton were good pals but the COVID-19 season saw their relationship sour due to criticisms from the media of that Celtic team. However, it appears that the pair have sorted their issues and looked very friendly.
