Christopher Jullien believes winter break will help Celtic

The loss against the Rangers at Celtic Park last Sunday was without doubt a huge blow to the Hoops’ title hopes. After dominating Scottish football for almost a decade, Celtic finally have some competition in the form of Steven Gerrard’s side, who have managed to completely dominate them in their last two meetings.

Now, the club has a few weeks to reflect on Sunday’s 2-1 loss at Parkhead, which was the first time Celtic lost a Glasgow Derby at home since 2010. And with the transfer window now open, the fans will also be hoping that the club make a few acquisitions so that the title race is tilted back in their favour.

Christopher Jullien believes that the winter break is a huge positive for the club at this point of time. As reported by The Scottish Sun, the Celtic defender said:

“It will be huge for me and for the team. For me, it will be nice to get a rest after playing in so many games.

“It will also be good to spend some time with the family and take a break. For the team, it’s about recharging the batteries and being ready for the next part of the season.

“When I came here I didn’t expect to play in so many games. I have enjoyed it because you want to play as much as possible, but it will be good to take a break.

“It’s not just a physical rest, it’s also mentality. That comes with experience. You know when you have the days off to put football out of your mind.

“I know we will get back to work and train in Dubai. At that moment we will have the championship and the rest of the season firmly in our minds.”

The Hoops had found themselves in a similar situation last season but bounced back brilliantly after the winter break to clinch the title in convincing fashion. And the fans will be hoping for the same thing to happen this year as well.
