There will be many fans wondering what Celtic’s season would look like if Eddy was at his best the whole way through, but you could say that about a lot of the players.
He’s struggled with injuries and a clear lack of form/confidence, so it can often take some time to bounce back from that.
His goal tonight means he’s now scored thirteen in twenty league games so he’s actually on the way to one of his strongest statistical seasons, while this stat also demonstrates that he is now back to his best:

It’s probably come too late to have any bearing on the destination of the league title but it’s still important to build up momentum for next year, while there’s the Scottish Cup to think about too.
You do have to wonder if he’s actually playing to catch the attention of potential suitors in the summer ahead of a possible transfer, but if some good form allows Celtic to maximise the fee they take for him then that’s not a bad thing either.
